The Moment I Stopped Hiding My Desire

We kept talking, me trying to walk back my words, but eventually I had to confess, “Maybe… yes. I just want to know if another man would even be interested in me.”

“He would be,” Mike said confidently. “But I’m not letting you lead some guy on with no intention of following through. So tell me honestly—if you found someone you really wanted, would you actually be with him?”

He had cornered me, and he knew it. At first it was just curiosity about whether another man would find me attractive. But if I imagined someone who genuinely caught my attention… well, the effect on me was impossible to ignore.
That night between us made it even clearer how much the thought excited me.

The man we were discussing was Jim — an Air Force member stationed nearby. A bit older than I expected, but he fit every other thing I’d been imagining. Mike enjoyed watching how eager I became once the idea shifted from fantasy to something that could actually happen.

“What happened to the innocent act?” he joked.

Over the next few days, we went back and forth, talking and teasing about the possibility. One evening, while we were in bed, our playful kissing turned more heated. Mike’s touch grew more deliberate, guiding my imagination toward the scenario we had been discussing.

“Imagine it’s Jim,” he murmured. “Imagine what it would feel like if it were someone new.”

Usually, it was hard for me to picture someone else, but the mixture of nerves and curiosity was stronger than usual.

“Do you want him?” Mike asked softly as he moved closer. “If you do, imagine he’s the one here with you.”
