A dark morning that changed everything
In his video, Dillon carefully recounted the accident that would ultimately lead to his mother’s decline. He described an almost cinematic scene: a pitch-black highway, no streetlights, a quiet early morning drive in January 2025.

“We were just heading home,” he said. “It was one of those mornings where everything is still — like the world hasn’t woken up yet.”
He recalled falling asleep in the passenger seat, reclined back, completely unaware of what was about to happen. Pauline, who had fought for years to reclaim her independence and mobility, insisted on driving. Dillon remembered hearing her hum faintly along with the radio before he drifted off.
But then, in an instant, everything shattered.
A truck and trailer were stopped dead in the middle of the road — without hazard lights, without flares, without even the faintest reflection to warn oncoming drivers. At that exact moment, a vehicle was approaching from the opposite direction, blocking any chance of swerving left.
